- Where do I get information (manual?) on Quicken Rental Property Manager? The terms 'real estate' and 'rental property management' do not appear in any of the Quicken manals I've been above to find. I'm having trouble with forms that come up under the 'rental center' - no obvious way to edit a wrong entry, no overview of where the process for.
- New transactions are apparently importing into Quicken 2017 Rental Property Manager successfully: I get the red flag next to the account name for several different accounts indicating I have tasks to perform, and when I click on the flag, it reports “You have X transactions to review.”.

- edited April 2017For the past 2 weeks I have also experienced missing transactions. Also, I have been experiencing problems in the update process of accounts not found. When I deactivate and do a setup I am getting accounts not found or accounts unknown. I am using Q17 Deluxe in Win 10.
- edited December 2018Hi I found this thread after dealing with a recurring issue in Quicken 2017 Rental Property Manager (Windows 7). On multiple occasions I have noticed reconciled transactions from years ago disappearing from the register thereby causing my Quicken balance to become out of syn with the Online Balance. I can't determine any pattern for which transactions disappear. I've been using Quicken since 1998 and never observed this behavior before.

Hello, thanks for responding. I'm not sure what you mean, but I backup my data file from the 'File' menu regularly (to external hard drive). In each case I have confirmed that the transaction(s) are not merely missing because of filter criteria or unintentional sorting. So far in each case I have successfully been able to identify the missing transaction and re-enter in the register based on comparing manually to downloaded (previously reconciled) statements, which is obviously a time-consuming process.Hi I found this thread after dealing with a recurring issue in Quicken 2017 Rental Property Manager (Windows 7). Oh sorry I think I understand what you mean. I am always viewing the specific account register (my preferred view). From this view I sometimes notice discrepancies between 'Online Balance' and 'Ending Balance' (even though both were in sync earlier in the day/week) requiring investigation by comparing old, previously reconciled statements to find out the transaction(s) that disappeared (sometime many years old). Then I manually re-add enter the transaction in the register so that the variance is back to zero. I first noticed this issue about a couple months ago.Hi I found this thread after dealing with a recurring issue in Quicken 2017 Rental Property Manager (Windows 7). Let me guess. You are using Quicken mobile and/or you are syncing to the cloud. If so, I would refrain from doing either for a few weeks and see if your transaction/category loss issues stop.I also report that previously categorized transactions sometimes show up as 'Uncategorized' upon restart of the software. I don't use mobile but I have synced to the cloud on occasion, though not regularly. The most recent categorization issue occurred just today and I have not synced to cloud in a while.I also report that previously categorized transactions sometimes show up as 'Uncategorized' upon restart of the software. But I will refrain from syncing altogether in case you are correct and it is the cause. If you read above, Quicken 2017 for Windows, has a Click-Thru Bug when launching Backup, when viewing an open Register. It gets sorted from a different column Header, even though you had not clicked it.
When Backing up, click on the Home Tab, then launch File to Back and Restore to finally Back up a Quicken File. Don't launch Backup, when your Quicken Account Register is opened.
To fix the Sort Order, click the Date Column Header. You can Have the Empty Transaction Line at the Top of the Register or Bottom, your preference, by clicking the Date Column Header.thecreator - User of Quicken Subscription R23.17 & Quicken 2017 HBRP R19.7

Thanks for your response. Is the bug also causing transactions to disappear (in addition to changing sort order)? I confirmed that none of the missing transactions are missing due to unintended sort order but nevertheless from now on I will only backup when registers are closed. If you don't Save the transaction, after making changes to the transaction, the next time you start the software, you will see the transaction, like before you make any change. You need to click Save.thecreator - User of Quicken Subscription R23.17 & Quicken 2017 HBRP R19.7

Hello - the transactions that are disappearing are not ones that have been changed in any way. In some cases they are over 3 years old and were reconciled at that time.I also report that previously categorized transactions sometimes show up as 'Uncategorized' upon restart of the software. Sorry it isn't taking long to solve your problem, none of us can see what is going on and you need to be specific. Mobile can't load your entire Quicken Data File. So, when you sync, it is only syncing recent, not old transactions and what may be happening is that your Register may be matching what is on the Web. To Sync, means to match, I believe.thecreator - User of Quicken Subscription R23.17 & Quicken 2017 HBRP R19.7

Was this issue ever resolved? Still a big problem.Hi @ Pam Kulhanek ,
If you enter Manual Transactions and switch to another Register within Quicken before click on Save, those Manually entered Transactions, will disappear.

Hi Nathan, I reported an issue with disappearing reconciled transactions further below this thread, and while I'm not sure what caused it, I can report that I haven't encountered the issue again after disabling Quicken mobile sync. Whether it is correlation vs causation I can only speculate.Hi @ Pam Kulhanek ,

This fixed it for me, but like the above poster, I never touched that setting, so not sure how it happened. I also now see that going forward we are going to be forced to upgrade on a regular basis, no longer being able to just buy the CD and upgrade when we want.Problem solved via Quicken chat. Unbelievably, It required checking a box on Edit Preferences, Downloaded transactions, Automatically add to banking registers!
I had never touched that option as I don't download transactions but, apparently, it is now required in order to see transactions in the register - Go figure. - edited April 2018
I too had months of transactions disappear and now they are gone because I didn't save them to switch to another account? I never had to do this before. I thought it was saving real time? I have used Quicken for a very long time and am now thinking of switching to another vendor.Hi @ Pam Kulhanek ,
